but growing up in predominantly white spaces in Texas meant pressure to always keep the lawn cut. To always look your best and presentable was a means of fighting for acceptance, however I met my resistance through my love of art and fashion as an act of rebellion through measured uniforms. Tea with Mattie is the exploration in a soft meditation to put a pause in between a fast paced flawed society. The beautiful thing about perceiving art is that the act itself, holds no exclusion nor does it fight for acceptance it simply just lives, so let’s sit back and exhale over a cup of tea as we discuss all the beauties life has to offer.
